About Ladakh, it is the region of mountain passes, an ideal place to see the supreme beauty of nature. Ladakh lies between 32 to 36 degree north latitude and 75 to 80 degree east longitude. It is the highest flat terrain of the Indian state of Kashmir with many of it being over 3,000m about Ladakh. The total area of 45110sq km makes Ladakh the biggest district in India. Ladakh region is divided in Kargil and Leh districts. Kargil lies at an height of 2750m and Leh at 3505m. The largest town in Ladakh is Leh. The altitude differs between 5000 to 14000 feet above the sea level. Leh is the capital of Ladakh.

Ladakh is famous for its distant mountain beauty and culture. It spans the Great Himalayan and Karakoram mountain ranges and the upper Indus River Valley. Ladakh is bordered by two of the world's uppermost elevation ranges like the Karakoram in the north and the great Himalayas in the south. The Pakistan occupied Kashmir lies in the west and China in the north and Eastern part and Lahul Spiti of Himachal Pradesh in the South east of the district. Ladakh's racial composition consisted of Mongoloid and a mixed Indo-Aryan population of Mons and Dards. It is now and then called little Tibet due to strong cultural and geographical similarities with Tibet. The approach to Ladakh is always marked with many long walls running 2-3 kms, adorned with engraved stones bearing the mantra "Om Mani Padme Hun" and Chortens which symbolizes Buddha's mind. Through 1962 war among China and India and the part of the Leh was taken by China.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Leh Airport. (Arrival after 1000 hrs)

Arrival at Leh airport in the afternoon. Meet our local representative and get transferred to your pre-booked hotel. Let your body take complete rest to acclimatization to the high altitude of Leh (11,500 ft / 3500 mtrs). Overnight at respective hotel. Hotel Asia or similar.

Day 2: Leh - Alchi - Leh (West Leh Local Sightseeing) - Full Day Trip

After breakfast, get ready for a full day excursion to Alchi. En-route visit Hall of fame, Magnetic field, Sangam point & Gurudwara pathar sahib. Overnight in Hotel. Hotel Asia or similar.

Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley (via Khardung La) (6 hrs approx) Northern Region

After early breakfast, this morning, check out and drive to Nubra Valley (115 km approx). Today, we will drive through Khardung La which is claimed to be the highest motorable road in this world (Altitude of 18,380 ft). The pass offers amazing views of the valley and the roads winding up the mountain. The pristine air, scenic vistas and the feeling of being on top of the world have made Khardung La a popular tourist attraction. Upon arrival at Nubra Valley, Check into your pre-booked accommodation. Later in the afternoon, you can enjoy the camel safari at Sand Dunes between Deskit & Hundur Village as the main attraction in this area is the Bactarian Camels (Shaggy double hump Camel) around sand dunes. Overnight at Nubra Valley. Hotel Siachen or similar.

Day 4: Nubra Valley to Leh (Via Khardung La) (6 hrs approx) Northern Region

In the morning visit / explore Deskit , Hundar and the Sand Dunes where you can enjoy a short camel safari using the double-humped Bactrian camel found here (optional on direct payment). Later drive back to Leh, reaching in the late afternoon / evening. Overnight at the hotel. Hotel Asia or similar.

Day 5: Drive from Leh to Tso Pangong (Via Chang La) (6 hrs approx) Eastern Region

After an early morning breakfast, check out & start your drive to Pangong Lake (3 idiot movie fame). En-route, visit Chang-La Pass (300 kms round trip) at an altitude of 17,370 ft.). Reach Pangong lake and enjoy beautiful site of this famous lake. Approximately 60% of the length of the lake lies in China. The brackish water plays with sunlight to produce different effects of light. Overnight at Pangong Lake. Highland - Standard Camp or similar.

Day 6: Tso Pangong – Leh. Visit Thiksey Gompa (Eastern Region)

We shall be waking up early today to witness one of the most beautiful sunrise in India on this magnificent Lake. Later enjoy your breakfast and bid goodbye to this mesmerizing place. Check out and board your vehicle to drive back to Leh. Enroute, Visit Thiksey Gompa. It is a twelve-story complex and houses many items of Buddhist art such as Stupas, statues, Thangkas, wall paintings and swords. Later in the evening reach Leh and check into your hotel. Overnight at Leh. Hotel Asia or similar.

Day 7: Departure to Leh Airport. Tour Ends.

After breakfast, this morning, check out from your hotel and bid a final goodbye to this beautiful destination. Board your vehicle and drive back to the airport for your flight back to home. Return home with wonderful memories
